How do I obtain the BGS technic XML URL?

Contact your BGS technic sales representative or their partnership service. Access to the XML feed is reserved for BGS partner accounts — you will receive the URL adapted to your market (16 languages available on the supplier side).

Does the module work on PrestaShop 9?

Yes, that's even its main hunting ground. Tested in production on PrestaShop 9.0.x. Also compatible with 8.x and 1.7.x.

How long does the full import take?

With additional images: 8h-15h for 9,500 products (~30s/product, mostly downloading images from the BGS CDN). Without additional images (cover only): ~30 minutes. Tip: let it run via nightly CRON, that's ideal.

What happens if BGS adds a product or changes a price?

On the next CRON full_import: the new product is created automatically, existing prices are updated according to your tiers. You keep your modified descriptions if you've made changes from the PrestaShop BO.

Does the BGS XML contain available stock?

No. BGS does not provide stock in the XML (this is intentional on their part). The module sets a configurable default stock (999 = unlimited, recommended in catalog/dropshipping mode). If you want real-time stock, you need to subscribe to their B2B API (not covered by this module).

What does the VE field mean in the XML?

VE = Verkaufseinheit (sales unit / packaging). Indicates how many units are packaged per pack (e.g., VE=20 = sold by pack of 20). It is NOT the available stock. It's just catalog info. You can display it as a "Packaging" feature via a switch in Options.

Does the module support a multilingual site?

The module imports in 1 language at a time (the one of the chosen XML file). For a multilingual store, product content is written in all PS languages with the same value. To truly translate into multiple languages, you need to do 1 import per language (clone the module under a different name).

Can I disable the module without losing my products?

Yes. Uninstallation preserves all data (products, categories, images, brands, supplier, logs). To erase this data: use the Tools tab → Selective deletion before uninstalling.

Is there a mapping file for category images?

Yes! The module contains 345 custom JPG images (1 per category at all levels), automatically assigned upon tree creation. If a category does not have a dedicated image, the module automatically retrieves the official BGS icon as a backup.

Does the module work with a local XML file (not over HTTPS)?

Yes. You can put a local server path in the "XML URL" field (e.g., /var/www/imports/bgs.xml) and the module will use it directly, without curl download. Very useful for testing or if you fetch the XML by FTP/SFTP.
